The story of Kohlico Brands begins in the 1940s, when Tara Singh Kohli set out on a journey that would lay the foundation for a lasting family legacy.
With roots in Calcutta’s tea trade, his family had built a reputation for exporting quality tea across the Middle East. But Mr. Kohli saw an opportunity beyond the borders of India.
Arriving in Bradford, England in the early post-war years, he began with a small drapery stall at local markets, working tirelessly to build a future in a new land.
His entrepreneurial spirit soon led him into food imports. A move that would shape the future of the business. What started as a modest venture grew into Kohli & Company, one of Britain’s largest continental food importers.
